STAMP-N-TELL
GLITTER LACE BACKGROUNDS
Taught by
Michele Pryor
SAMPLES: There are gorgeous samples ready to view.

SUPPLIES:
*A card sized piece of double sided sticky tape (I used a Miracle sheet)
*A piece of lace (a little bigger than the front of your card)
*Two colors of ultra fine glitter (I used Art Institute glitter, and I have used Evolving Image's glitter, I can't tell the difference)
*cardstock in the color of your choice
*OPTIONAL: Clear or colored beads

INSTRUCTIONS:
Take your piece of double sided sticky tape cut to the size of the front of your card, and using a bone folder or a popsicle or craft stick, rub across it really well, to insure that there are no air bubbles in it. Then peel off one side of the paper backing and adhere the tape to the front of the card.
Peel off the other side of the paper backing and lay the piece of lace over it. Using your bone folder or craft stick rub it down so the glitter won't get under the lace.
Take one of your colors of glitter, and pour it over the top of the lace, onto the card. Put a piece of paper or something under the card to catch the extra glitter (I like to use coffee filters because they don't get static). Pick up the card and dump off the extra glitter onto your coffee filter or paper and put it back in the jar.
Pull off the piece of lace (you can use the lace over and over again). Now pour another color of glitter over the card and dump off the extra and replace it in the jar.
I put a piece of paper over the top of the card and rub my hand over it, to insure that the glitter sticks, then flick the back of the card with my finger a couple of times to get off any glitter that doesn't want to stick.
There you have it! A beautiful, sparkly background that you can mount an image on, that you have stamped, colored and cut out.
A variation of this is instead of a second color of glitter you can add Beedz.
When I add Beedz, I use a shallow box top, so the Beedz don't roll away. I pour them on after I remove the lace, and place a piece of paper on top of them. Then I take the bottle the Beedz came in and roll it over the top, to make sure they stick.
You can also make a glitter lace border by doing the same technique using double sided sticky tape that comes on a roll, and placing it around the outside edge as a border.
